Capitalism has failed us. The planet is dead and greed turned into sand.

While everyone was still busy waiting for the next smartphone to doomscroll on, the fabric of Earth’s climate was torn apart. We knew what was going to happen. The quarterly numbers won anyway.

Rivers were sold by the litre, forests by the acre. When the harvests failed, the few who had profited walled themselves in and left the rest to the heat. Then came the Great Collapse, and the sand moved in.

Fifty years on, the Science Creed is still trying to reactivate the climate. Its pylons pour water back into the dead ground and wake it, circle by circle.

You are one of the Creed. You woke at a pylon beside a fire that is still burning, with the storms driving the dead ahead of them. Keep it active. Spread life.

How it works

Stay alive: Water, food and health. Drink, eat and patch yourself up before any of them runs dry.
Scavenge: Ruins, crates and the dead carry scrap, cloth and ammo. Bunkers and caves below the sand hold the best of it, and whatever guards it.
Craft and build: C opens the recipe book, B the build menu. A bench turns scrap into gear; walls, doors and fires turn a camp into a base.
Keep the pylon alive: Pour water into it and the green spreads, and nothing spawns inside its circle. Let the tank run dry and the sand slowly takes the ground back.
Ride out the storm: When it turns lethal, get under a pylon’s dome or a roof. In the open it kills, and whatever no pylon claims, it wipes clean.
